At Yakety Yak Language Café we like talking. We particularly like chatting in comfortable, friendly cafes where we can practise Scottish Gaelic over a tasty wee treat, and enjoy ourselves at the same time.
So that's what we do!
We know that s
ome people cannot commit to a regular time every week - so if you want to learn to speak Gaelic better, you can just drop in to our sessions whenever it's convenient for you. You can pay every time you come - £6 per session - or pay for 5 lessons at once and get a 6th session free.
Fluency
We have groups with different levels of fluency in all our cafes so whenever you come, you can join a Gaelic conversation group at your level - and to make sure you get exactly what you want out of each session with us, each group has an experienced tutor who is a fluent Gaelic speaker.
We focus on conversation. Not just because we like talking, but also because conversation will improve your listening, your vocabulary, your grammar and your confidence. And as each group will have no more than 6 people, plus a tutor, there will be ample opportunity to learn to speak better Gaelic.
As well as practising your Gaelic conversation, you'll learn a bit about Gaelic culture and meet people with similar interests.
Of course, you may already be a fluent speaker and feel that if you don't use it, you'll lose it - so come and join a group of fluent speakers.
